Brooklyn Beckham might have forgotten his, but retailer Halfords reports that sales of L-Plates are on the rise as more younger drivers follow the rules of the road.
As the eldest son from the Beckham clan continues his well-publicised driving lessons, retailer Halfords reports a 20% increase year-on-year in weekly sales of its magnetic L Plates.
David Hammond of Halfords says: “Brooklyn Beckham can’t wait to ditch his, but our sales figures reveal that David Beckham’s eldest has started something of a trend. While most young drivers can’t afford to take their lessons in an C-Class Mercedes they can get a set of L Plates from us and ensure they are highway ready.”
All new drivers in the UK upon receipt of a provisional license, must display L plates when driving. After passing their test, they may opt to display green P plates to show they are new drivers.
