Halfords Autocentres launches half price MOTs throughout August

Research from Halfords Autocentres, the UK’s leading garage and servicing network, reveals that 52 per cent of motorists are concerned about the costs of their annual MOT test.

The survey of 4,000 motorists also reveals that 43 per cent of those questioned only perform basic maintenance checks every two months or less.

A huge 66 per cent of those surveyed don’t make preparations for an MOT until a month before it is due, and a quarter (25 per cent) leave it until less than a fortnight to go.

With this research in mind Halfords Autocentres have launched a month long campaign to help motorists get their MOTs for half the price of the DVSA max test fee at just £27.42, normally £54.85.

Martin Barber from Halfords Autocentres says: “We know from our customers that MOTs can creep up on you, so this offer will help more drivers keep their cars on the road and take the stress and cost out of the annual road test.”

The half price MOT campaign is one of a series of packages that Halfords Autocentres has introduced to make motoring more affordable. The garage network has also recently introduced interest-free credit to all customers with a debit card on all repairs over £200. Customers pay 25 per cent on the day, and then pay the balance over the following three months at no extra cost.
