Product Recall Notice

Halfords has identified a potential safety concern with its Exodus Roof Mount Cycle Carrier (item code 210150). A plastic catch for the bicycle wheel retaining straps has been fitted incorrectly by the manufacturer, resulting in the wheels not being adequately held in the aluminium wheel channel.

There have been no reported accidents, and only this specific model is affected, however, as a precautionary measure and to ensure consumer safety, Halfords removed this product from sale on April 24th, pending a full investigation. Halfords has also recalled all unsold units.

Halfords has sold 625 units since December 2016, and is in the process of contacting 440 customers for whom it has email addresses to offer a full refund or exchange. Halfords is also issuing notices in all shops. Customers are advised to return the product to their nearest Halfords store.
