Halfords has recently opened a new pilot store in Derby taking the opportunity to test new concepts. The store is 5,729 square feet on the ground floor and 3,522 square feet on the mezzanine. It includes new design layout and principles, incorporating feedback from customers and colleagues and further establishing its new ‘For Life’s Journeys’ brand proposition. Concepts at the store will inform future refurbishments as Halfords continues to evolve its store proposition.
The redesign is aimed at showcasing Halfords’ unique selling point, its services, and this focus begins before customers even step through the front door. Alongside a number of cycle racks and tyre pumps, there is a block of dedicated fitting bays ready for on-the-spot bulb, battery and wiper blade fittings and also windscreen chip repairs. The store also includes a charging station for electric vehicles in support of the growing number of electric cars on the road.
