Halfords Teams up with National Trust to Get More People Outdoors

Halfords has teamed up with the National Trust to offer their customers a free family day pass worth up to £50 at many of the beautiful places in the charity’s care across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The collaboration comes as research by the retailer suggests that one of the biggest barriers to cycling is having somewhere safe to cycle with one-in-five (20%) preferring to cycle in parks and open spaces.

Together they aim to make cycling more enjoyable with access to beautiful and traffic-free spaces, encouraging more people to get pedalling.  With 200 parks and gardens in the National Trust’s care, cyclists can enjoy pedalling past lakes, through woods and alongside wildlife at a number of these places, while avoiding the hazards of traffic.  Plus, income from each family day pass purchased by Halfords as part of the offer will be supporting the National Trust in their work to care for special places.

A spokesperson from Halfords says: “We are delighted to be working with the National Trust as their places provide fantastic opportunities and inspiration for everyone to begin pedalling and discover just how much fun you can have on two wheels. Our partnership means they can get ready to explore the coastline, parks, quiet roads and scenic rides, discovering everything that the National Trust has to offer and having a pit-stop at one of their cafés for a pre-ride snack or warming meal to refuel.

The pass is available when any adult bike, roof box, roof bar or bike rack is is purchased from Halfords. The offer runs from the 16th May until the 5th August and your pass can be used up until the 30th September. The pass admits two adults and three children.

To redeem the offer, customers will be asked to provide an email address either in-store or online, and will need to complete a form and the family day pass will be emailed to them. The offer is restricted to one per household and can’t be used on bank holidays.
