Halfords: MOT For Just £10

UNDER EMBARGO UNTIL TUESDAY 30th APRIL 7:00am

HALFORDS: MOT FOR JUST £10

  • Two week promotion means motorists can claim MOT for just £10
  • Buy 50p car sponge or any product, get an MOT for just £10 (normally worth £54.85)

Today Halfords announces it is offering an MOT for £10 with any purchase from its retail stores. By buying any product from a Halfords store motorists can claim themselves an MOT for the bargain price of just £10 from Halfords Autocentres  at just £10. The offer shaves over £40 off the price of the annual motoring check-up, with an MOT normally costing £54.85.

The two week promotion has priced an MOT from the UK’s leading garage chain at just £10. The offer runs from the 30th April and is live until the 15th May. Drivers are required to book their MOT by 26th June 2019 but the actual MOT can be carried out up until 16th May 2020.

Customers who order in-store and through click and collect will be given a voucher at the point of purchase, while online customers will receive an email voucher within seven days of purchasing.

The initiative has been bought as research by the retailer reveals that one-in-five drivers say that an MOT is one of their largest motoring expenses. The poll also revealed that 16 per cent have put off getting a fault checked until their next scheduled service.

The survey also found that 66 per cent of motorists don’t make preparations for an MOT until a month before it is due, while 25 per cent leave it until less than a fortnight to go.

Now Halfords is making it easier. The offer applies to any product sold at a Halfords shop. It means a customer could in theory buy a £0.50p car sponge and then claim their MOT for just £10 from Halfords Autocentres. To redeem it in store customers will be given a voucher email and asked to fill in their details online, while online shoppers will be given a leaflet with a voucher code with their order.

The initiative runs from 30th April and is live until 15th May, and coincides with the May Day bank holiday. The move comes almost a year after the new MOT testing system came into place on May 20th 2018.

Andy Randall from Halfords Autocentres says: "We want to help drivers through their lifetime of motoring and it’s clear from our research that MOT tests hit them in the wallet. This promotion means anyone visiting a Halfords retail store to pick up any essentials can bag a much- needed MOT from Halfords Autocentres at a very low price.  Halfords Autocentres are a growing part of the Halfords Group, and we hope this promotion will introduce more customers to our garages.”
