Halfords launches e-gifting site in time for Christmas

HALFORDS today launches its new e-gifting site in time for Christmas gift shopping, allowing customers to send e-gift cards to friends and family.

The new microsite, based within Halfords.com, lets customers choose from different e-gift card designs and denominations and send to the chosen recipient by personalised email instantly. Shoppers can choose branded designs including Boardman Bikes, Olive and Orange by Orla Kiely, Karcher and Garmin, and multiple e-gift cards of different amounts and designs can be sent to different recipients at the same time for added convenience.

The e-cards are redeemable in all Halfords shops, with customers able to make use of click and collect and delivery options and shopping via mobile. Recipients are also able to check the balance of their card online or in shops to help them get the most from their gift.

Halfords e-gifting marketing manager, Domonique Lippett said: “We know our customers want more convenient ways to shop, particularly during the busy Christmas period. By launching our new e-gifting site, we’re giving customers a new way to give the gift of Halfords.

“With our online sales increasing by 30 per cent*, we’re reflecting the appetite to shop at Halfords.com and have made it easier than ever to give and redeem a gift from Halfords.”

The launch will be supported with a paid PPC and email campaign to tell customers about this latest way to gift from Halfords.

e-gift cards can be redeemed at any of Halfords’ 460 shops nationwide and in Cycle Republic stores and are redeemable on over 15,000 different products, as well as Halfords’ "wefit" services for car parts, child seats, satellite navigation and in-car entertainment systems, and a "werepair" service for cycles.
