HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Halfords Group PLC announces that on 19 October 2011 it purchased, through Investec Bank PLC, 80,651 of its ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 317.8401 pence per share. The highest price paid was 319.0 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 315.7 pence per share.

Following the above purchase, the Company has now bought back 9,205,433 shares for cancellation and 5,368,969 for transfer into treasury, since 7 April 2011 when the buy back programme commenced.
