HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Halfords Group PLC announces that on 04 October 2011 it purchased, through Investec Bank PLC, 114,885 of its ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 292.6903 pence per share. The highest price paid was 293.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 291.3 pence per share.

Following the above purchase, the Company has now bought back 8,535,150 shares for cancellation and 5,449,620 for transfer into treasury, since 7 April 2011 when the buy back programme commenced.
