HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Further to the announcement made on 21 December 2011 in relation to the purchase of own shares, the correct total is 11,442,457 shares have been purchased for cancellation (not 10,992,457 as previously disclosed). A further 5,449,620 shares have been purchased for transfer into treasury as previously stated.
